ET&T Staff /Mumbai

The Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM), B U Jhansi, is organising a three-day international conference on tourism development, community and conservation themed ‘shaping eco-tourism for the third millennium’. The event is scheduled to be inaugurated on February 28, 2002, on the Bundelkhand University Campus, Jhansi.

Alongside commemorating the international year of eco-tourism and international year of mountains, the conference is aimed at providing an effective platform for interaction between academia, tourism practitioners, policy makers, environmentalists and opinion leaders from the society, on various issues related to sustainable development of tourism.

More than hundred delegates from the country and abroad are expected to deliberate during the seven technical and two special sessions of the conference. Confirmed participations have already been received from about 43 foreign delegates. However presently, prospective Indian delegates are in the process of being short-listed.
